Do you know anyone that talks about their insoles? You can’t see them, they’re not exactly glamorous and they don’t often make the news. But some might say insoles are life-changing tools. They help relieve chronic pain, support long workdays for those on their feet and even help professional athletes perform at the highest level. So bringing a metamorphic insole product to life online was no small feet feat, especially for our partners at Superfeet who endeavor to build everything with 100% integrity. So how did we roll?
It’s All About the Assets
The Superfeet marketing team laid some first-class groundwork for our site design. Armed with a crisp logo, inspiring video and stunning lifestyle imagery, all we had left was to collect images of the actual products. Updated, consistent photography of the insoles didn’t exist. To offer maximum flexibility, we set out to create a virtual studio where each insole was modeled, lit and rendered in 3D using Cinema 4D.
The images above are actually 3D renders, allowing our team to manipulate the product at any angle for insane creative flexibility. The ability for product construction to be “pulled apart” allowed for deeper tech stories to highlight additional product features.
Digital Presence Should Match the Retail Experience
With assets in place, we challenged ourselves to elevate consumer discovery and education online. An insole purchase can be very complex and personal, so we created Superfeet’s “smartwall” to allow users to filter by many use-case considerations, to narrow purchase options. It’s the next best thing to having an in-store custom fitting!

The Proof
It’s not hard to substantiate a product’s integrity when the brand story is book-ended by thousands of effusive testimonials. But for good measure we threw in a couple details about 30 years of podiatric lab Q&A, and the solid crew behind the product.
Mobile Friendly
Maybe the most important aspect of this project was ensuring its full-functionality and availability while considering a purchasing decision in-store. For that, the entire site was crafted to be responsive for the mobile user. Product packaging feature QR codes that link to custom (mobile-friendly, of course) product landing pages for maximum ease-of-use.

There’s a ton “under the hood” that we didn’t mention. Like the fact that Superfeet is sitting on a highly-optimized ecommerce platform with data integration that populates page content directly from their ERP. Or that the site is internationally configured for multiple storefronts with language support on the horizon.
