OEN at Edgefield
The Oregon Entrepreneur Network (OEN) is a non-profit organization at the heart of our region’s entrepreneurial community. Blue Collar’s Director of Client Services, Rob McCready, is a member of OEN, which fosters the flow of ideas, services and capital for Northwest businesses. Our Director of Business Development, John Burton, sits on the OEN Marketing Advisory Board.
OEN hosts all types of events, including a pitch and putt outing that we attended last week at McMenamins Edgefield. Although the sun was shining when we left Hood River, it rained on the 30 golfers for the first hour in Troutdale. After a few Ruby Ales and some warm up putting, 9 teams took to the course—just as the clouds cleared out.

Team 2: Matt Wilbur, Managing Principal with VelocX, myself, and Kyle Swan, VP with Silicon Valley Bank. Not pictured, Angela Jackson, Managing Director with Portland Seed Fund.
The par-3 Pub Course meanders through trees and around thickets of blackberry bushes. My teammates and I joked that the course is so green from drinking beer, but I didn’t find it too funny when my strategically placed beverage fell over in the wind while I was taking my shot. Lucky for me, Matt Wilbur of VelocX happily shared a few cold sips of his Hammerhead IPA.
After our round, we spent some time outside the Distillery Bar toasting our golf skills (or lack thereof) and celebrating Friday afternoon with some new friends. Looking forward to upcoming OEN events.
